Sacred Places Project

This was the main project of my internship at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. This project started in early September when Sacred Places first opened as a new exhibit to when it closed in early April. I loved working on this project because I got to do almost everything a museum could possibly do for an evaluation study, which I will detail below.

How I Contributed

  • Assisted in the brainstorm for the evaluation plan, including creating a main evaluation question concerning who is visiting the exhibit

  • Conducted remedial observations on 4 interactive elements, 20 observations total

  • Helped collect 35 exit interviews

  • Revised a survey to collect insight on visitors' intent on visiting the exhibit and their thoughts

  • Created and implemented a focus group-like plan involving interviewing college students who are asked to visit the exhibit

  • Helped lead a focus group initiative with gallery staff

  • Analyzed select interview and survey data, both qualitative and quantitative

  • Completed two small research projects using Sacred Places as a focal point
