Education

August 2022 - May 2024

Indiana University - Indianapolis

Master of Arts in Museum Studies

During my time at IU Indianapolis, I specialized in museum education and audience evaluation through my coursework and research. I focused on issues of diversity and representation, and challenged myself by, for example, taking a collections-focused elective about community collaboration when that wasn't my speciality. The flexibility of the program allowed me to figure out what I wanted to do career-wise while learning about other aspects of museum work such as exhibit design and administration.

August 2017 - May 2021

Indiana University - Bloomington

Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies

At IU Bloomington, I got my B.A in East Asian Studies with a concentration in Japanese language and culture. This path allowed me to learn more about Japanese military, political, and cultural history, while also studying the language 5 times a week in class. I also completed minors in Human Sexuality and Gender Studies, where I was able to discuss issues trans and other queer people face, as well as matters that other minority groups deal with that still impact how I see the world today.
