Syd Overtoom I He/They Pronouns
This was the main group project for my Museum Administration Fall 2023 course. With this project, we communicated with Daniel, GVWC's curator, and Mary, their director, to learn about what they wanted to accomplish as they transition from being under another 501C3, The International Marketplace Coalition, to being an independent 501C3 and a museum. We assisted them in creating a budget plan, how to get their board members active in fundraising, and how to handle their growing collection of objects and stories.

Conducted benchmark research to see where The Global Village Welcome Center stands compared to other museums and 501C3s in the area and beyond

Actively listened to what GVWC wanted to achieve and made suggestions
